Non-traditional Programs

Beyond the formal degree program, the Karl Eller Center has launched discipline-specific entrepreneurship education courses in traditional and non-traditional colleges and departments, including:

  • Entrepreneurship for Engineers, serving the College of Engineering and Nanotechnology Program
  • Professional Masters in Science Program, The College of Science
  • The Hanson Institute, advancing the art and industry of filmmaking through an entrepreneurial mindset
  • The Honeywell Growth Challenge, core entrepreneurship education
  • ENTR/ENGR prototype teams
  • Accounting tax advisor teams
  • The Associates programs:
    • Associate in Bio Industry and Life Sciences
    • Associate in Borderlands Business Development
    • Associate in Fine Arts
    • Associate in Health Sciences and Services
    • Associate in Media Arts and Communications
    • Associate in Technology Transfer
    • Associate in Entrepreneurship (general)
  • Entrepreneurship for MIS (undergraduate): Pilot course taught by MIS faculty. Provides introduction to entrepreneurship to MIS students
  • MS/MIS Entrepreneurship Track (graduate): Hybrid major partnering two of UA’s top ranked programs, MIS and entrepreneurship. MIS and entrepreneurship are the mindsets that can most effectively drive new and existing companies’ and organizations’ abilities to expand and contract in light of economic and market conditions.
  • Entrepreneurship for the MBA: Core entrepreneurship education provided to all UA 1st year MBAs. Experientially based, this year long class teams 1st years for the development of feasibility studies on UA developed technologies and socially relevant knowledge sets. An Eller Faculty Scholars course.
      

Non-business College-based

  • Enterprise of Music: An Eller Faculty Scholars course taught by music faculty in the School of Music, students gain a set of “personal entrepreneurship” skills to help them advance their careers in music.
  • Professional Masters in Science Program: An Eller Faculty Scholars course taught by science faculty in the College of Science and open across numerous disciplines, this course prepares hard science rooted entrepreneurs to advance their inventions to market.
  • Entrepreneurship for Engineers: The forerunner of the Eller Faculty Scholars Program, brings business development concepts to engineering and nanotechnology students. Taught in the College of Engineering by entrepreneurship faculty.
  • The Hanson Institute: Innovative institute approach designed and funded to advance the art and industry of filmmaking through an entrepreneurial mindset. Serves graduate and undergraduate teaching, research, and outreach mandates.
  • Entrepreneurship Internship Program: Places undergraduate and graduate students in internships in social and traditional entrepreneurial firms with the goal of providing students of any discipline with an exposure to the entrepreneurial philosophy.
